Thank you for your interest in the Adirondack Mountain Club's (ADK) Winter Mountaineering School Backpacking Course.
Health insurance and an ADK Membership are required to participate in this program. Prior successful completion of any other Winter School course (Day Hike, Backpacking, or "Combo") is also required to register for this program.
This program is only offered once every five years. Do you dream of bigger mountains that require a multi-day trek? Here you learn the skills that can take you to that next level of mountaineering. Trip planning, breaking and moving camp, teamwork group dynamics, and flexibility based on weather are a few things this course will cover beyond refreshing your previous WMS skills. The real bonus will be getting to go deeper into the High Peaks region to tackle multiple more remote peaks.
