Adirondack Mountain Club

This trip demands a high level of physical fitness in order to complete it within the available daylight hours. ADK reserves the right to deny participation if group safety will be compromised through an individual's participation.

This program is a guided day hike to Hurricane Mountain (elevation 3,694’, 6.8 miles round-trip with nearly 2,000’ of elevation gain). Please plan on arriving at the Hurricane Mountain trailhead along Route 9N between Keene and Elizabethtown at 8:30am. After introductions and a trip overview, we’ll embark on our journey to this fire tower summit. Along the way we’ll discuss safe backcountry travel and enjoy the rich natural history of the Adirondacks. The trip will be led by ADK’s Education Department staff.

Prior hiking experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
