Homeschool in the Woods: Hike up Mt. Jo (Ages 5-12)
ADK's Homeschool in the Woods class is back for a special day hike up Mt. Jo! Join an ADK Naturalist Guide on this family friendly hike to one of the best views in the Adirondack Park. Along the way your student will learn about new spring growth and the basics of using a map and compass.
The hike will be approximately 2.5 miles round trip and we will gain 750 ft in elevation. The trail surface is uneven in places, and we will be hiking over roots and rocks. We plan to eat lunch on the summit surrounded by views of the High Peaks Wilderness.
Parents and guardians are required to stay on site during the program and are encouraged to hike with us. Tag-alongs under the age of 5 are welcome as well however, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising them throughout the hike. A multi-child discount will automatically be applied after your first student is registered. Tag-alongs under the age of 5 do not need a registration.
