Health insurance is required to attend.

Is your homeschool student curious about nature? Do they enjoy spending time outside? If so, join ADK naturalists as we explore how the sun's energy flows through the food chain at ADK’s Cascade Welcome Center. This series of hands-on, student-led, classes will take us in search of what lives in Adirondack forests and wetlands. Through games, crafts, and other activities students will learn about how energy flows through Adirondack ecosystems and how different organisms interact.

This program meets for three hours every other Monday in September, October, and November. All six dates are included in the program fee, a multi-child discount will automatically be applied after your first student is registered. Please make sure your student is prepared to spend the whole program outside. Parents and guardians are required to stay on site during the program and are encouraged to hike with us. Tag-alongs under the age of 5 are welcome as well however, parents and guardians are responsible for supervising them throughout the program. Tag-alongs under the age of 5 do not need a registration. Restrooms and wifi are available in the Welcome Center for the duration of the program.

Parents and guardians should plan on meeting with instructors at ADK’s Cascade Welcome Center at 9:30am, located at 4833 Cascade Rd, Lake Placid, NY 12946. The course will run until approximately 12:30pm.
