Thank you for your interest in an Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) online workshop. 

This course requires a computer or tablet with internet capabilities. 

The Winter Survival 101 Online Workshop is an introductory program for those looking to begin or expand their recreational activities in the winter season. Our goals are to help you build a foundation of outdoor skills and refine your gear preparation to meet the demanding conditions of winter. We will cover a vast array of topics pertaining to responsible winter recreation, including proper clothing & equipment for winter outings, nutrition, tips to stay warm & dry, how to recognize & treat cold weather illnesses, snowshoeing basics, avalanche awareness, shelter building, and we will discuss Leave No Trace backcountry skills & ethics pertaining to the cold-weather seasons. This online class will run from 9:00am to 1:00pm. 

 

A private Zoom invitation will be sent out a few days in advance.
